Brush
Research Manufacturing (BRM) will attend IMTS 2012, one of the world’s largest
industrial tradeshows, from September 10 to 15 at McCormick Place in Chicago,
Illinois USA. As a world-class manufacturer of American-made brush tools, we’re
proud to participate in the biggest manufacturing tradeshow in the United
States, a biennial event held at the largest convention center in North
America.
If you’re planning to attend the International Manufacturing Technology Shows (IMTS), come visit us in Booth N-7263 at the Abrasive Machining, Sawing, and Finishing Pavilion. The BRM Booth is the place to learn about our Flex-Hone® tools for surface finishing, NamPower™ disc brushes for high-performance abrasive finishing, and BRM’s full line of standard and custom industrial brushes.
Flex-Hone® Tools for Surface Finishing
BRM’s Flex-Hone® tool is a versatile, flexible cylinder hone that uses a soft cutting action to create a plateau finish that’s free from cut, torn, and folded metal. Ideal for any type and size of cylinder, the Flex-Hone® is self-centering and self-aligning to the bore so that rigid, elaborate setups are not required. The plateau finish that the Flex-Hone® imparts promotes optimum lubrication and the proper seating of piston rings and seals.
The Flex-Hone® tool is also ideal for cylinder deglazing, the process of breaking the smooth finish or glaze that’s created by the reciprocating movement of pistons. As a glaze-breaker hone, the tool creates a cross-hatched pattern of tiny grooves so that engine oil adheres to cylinder walls and piston rings seat properly. BRM’s Flex-Hone® is also used for cross-hole deburring, the process of removing raised particles and shavings (burrs) that are created by machining and that can interfere with working parts.
NamPower™ Disc Brushes for High-Performance Abrasive Finishing
NamPower™ abrasive disc brushes are high-performance brush tools for in-machine deburring, edge radiusing, and surface conditioning. They are easily integrated into manual and automated finishing machinery, including CNC machining centers, transfer lines, and robotic cells. Industrial applications for NamPower™ disc brushes include extrusion and fine blanketing, appliance manufacturing, and the deburring, cleaning, surface preparation, and resurfacing of plastic and aluminum automotive parts.
Standard and Custom Industrial Brushes
Since 1958, Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM) has been a leader and manufacturer of high-quality industrial brushes, twisted-in-wire brushes, and abrasive brush tools. Wire brushes are used commonly in metalworking environments, typically for surface preparation and heavy-duty cleaning. Built with filaments that function as individual cutting tools, wire brushes are used to remove rust and corrosion, slug and scale, and even welds.
To learn how our flexible hones and industrial brushes can help solve your most difficult surface finishing challenges, visit BRM in Booth N-7263 at IMTS 2012. See you there!
